Sorry it's been a while. I have been really sick. But, here's a post for you all!
An aura is the feeling you get before you have a seizure. They feel different for everyone, but auras are pretty freaky.
I do not like the auras I have. There are several things that happen when I have an aura.
1. My stomach jumps. It feels like someone just scared me.
2. I get a throbbing headache.
3. I get nauseated.
I absolutely hate auras.
I am not sure about other people, but I almost feel like I am watching myself have the aura. If you read my third post, "Seeing It For The First Time", you'll remember that when I had my first seizure, I felt like I was dead. That I was outside of my body, watching myself. This is not as strong, but similar.
I wanted to let you all know that I opened an Etsy shop! You should all check it out and spread the word!

ReplyDeleteThank you! I really appreciate it! I am definitely going to keep writing.
DeleteI would freaking love to have a good aura well atleast one that is be able to identify as an aura. Mine keep switching around on me. I've had blurry vision and I used to have this problem where is have a song repeatedly going through my mind about an hour before the actual seizure. Me it's straight out paranoia which honestly increases anxiety and depression. Sad part is most neurologist don't even mention auras. Had to google it before I even realized what it was.

ReplyDeleteThat is really interesting! Did it feel weird to know an aural was coming when a song was stuck in your head? Also, I hate when neurologists don't listen to you. I have only seen my actual neurologist twice because she is always busy. I am okay with that because I see, I forgot the name, but someone she works with. Anyway, I am glad because she actually listens to me. Maybe you could look for a new neurologist. It's important to have one that actually listens to you.
DeleteI am greatful for mine. It give me time to swipe my magnet and swipe it and shorten the seizure if not stop it. Mine are like being light headed and a numb feeling in my arm. This gives me between 15 seconds at the least to 45 seconds at the most. These auras along with the VNS have finally given me a sense of control after 50 years
